This is a plein air painting,done on a spring day of an old carriage house at the east entrance to Ramsden Park. The ancient building is privately owned and makes a mysterious but very lovely entrance to the park on this late spring day. The shadows of the surrounding trees add a further layer of atmosphere to the scene. many of the stones in the building are remnants of stones from Toronto's old city hall.The original painting was purchased by the great grandson of the original builder.

Brent has always had a keen interest in art and photography. In the past few years, he has participated in a number of courses and workshops in oil painting, watercolour and acrylics. Some of his most enjoyable painting experiences have involved pleine air painting at locations such as Grand Manan Island NB, Jekyll Island GA, Haliburton ON, Thornbury ON, in the City of Toronto, and numerous other locations.
