About BRENT ARLITT
Brent Arlitt resides in downtown Toronto, and enjoys seeing the endless possibilities for conveying the wonder and joy of being into his paintings. Brent has always had a keen interest in art and photography. In the past few years, he has participated in a number of courses and workshops in oil painting, watercolour and acrylics. Some of his most enjoyable painting experiences have involved pleine air painting at locations such as Grand Manan Island NB, Jekyll Island GA, Haliburton ON, Thornbury ON, in the City of Toronto, and numerous other locations.
Brent specializes in both rural and urban landscapes and still-life and enjoys depicting the effect of light on the feelings, mood and warmth of a scene. Being an avid traveller, many of his paintings reflect his changed views on life as he visits other countries and cultures.
Mr. Arlitt has been painting with the Don Valley Art Club (a club with 200 members in downtown Toronto) for several years and has successfully participated in most of the club’s art shows. Brent is now President of the Don Valley Art Club at www.donvalleyartclub.com
Prior to that, Brent painted several years with members of the Scarborough Art Guild.
His aim is to evolve as a skilled interpreter of interesting scenes that capture the wonder of our environment and our existence, the thrill of being, and the magic of light incident upon a scene.
