This painting was inspired by a walk along Bloor Street during Open Streets Toronto during this summer 2015. this group, Hogtown Sound, composed of a group of University of Toronto music students had been playing along Bloor Street throughout the summer. With the street closed and this little girl with the pink balloon dancing in front of Holts, I knew that it would make a great painting.
Brent Arlitt resides in downtown Toronto, and enjoys seeing the endless possibilities for conveying the wonder and joy of being into his paintings. Brent has always had a keen interest in art and photography. In the past few years, he has participated in a number of courses and workshops in oil painting, watercolour and acrylics. Some of his most enjoyable painting experiences have involved pleine air painting at locations such as Grand Manan Island NB, Jekyll Island GA, Haliburton ON, Thornbury ON, in the City of Toronto, and numerous other locations.
